For 50 years, in the city where Maurice Ravel was born, the Académie has been welcoming, in a warm environment, several generations of young virtuosis who have since attained international fame.
During the first two weeks in September, we offer young artists an intensive training in the company of great interpreters and pedagogues, which associates individual instrumental practice and chamber music for ensembles which are already or will be constituted (wind ensembles are welcome).
Since its very beginning, the Académie has been perpetuating Maurice Ravel's memory and endeavouring to promote the interpretation of the French repertory (from 1850 to the present) and of contemporary works. In view of that aim, a composer in residence (Dusapin, Monnet, Mantovani, Fénelon ...) is regularly invited during its sessions.
From 2015, the Palazzetto Bru Zane - Centre de musique romantique française joins to the Académie Ravel to deal with tu performance of rare works of the French romantic repertoire and the contemporary composers of Ravel.
